FUNERAL CELEBRANT - SPEAKER - STORYTELLER

Honouring life through story, remembrance and ceremony.

A Different Approach to Remembrance

I believe funerals and celebrations of life should feel deeply personal. Shaped by the stories, values and moments that made someone who they were.

No two lives are the same, and no ceremony should feel generic.

My role is to listen carefully, create space for reflection, and help families honour the people they love with warmth, authenticity and meaning.

Whether traditional, modern or completely unique, every ceremony is created with compassion, care and respect for the life being remembered.

Because every life leaves a story worth remembering.

About Lewis

My background in mental health, support work and personal development has shaped the way I approach remembrance and ceremony.

I believe people deserve to feel truly heard during life’s most difficult and meaningful moments.

Every ceremony I create begins with listening. I pride myself on taking time to understand the personality, stories and relationships that made someone who they were.

My role is not simply to conduct a ceremony, but to help create a space for reflection, connection and honouring a life with authenticity and care.

Alongside celebrancy work, I’m also the creator of Still We Speak; a storytelling and conversation platform exploring grief, resilience, memory and the human experience.

Creating a Meaningful Ceremony Together

Every ceremony begins with listening.

I aim to make the process feel calm, personal and supportive; creating space for reflection, story and meaningful remembrance at every stage.

  • We begin with a relaxed conversation about your loved one, your wishes and the kind of ceremony you would like to create.

There is no pressure or expectation. simply an opportunity to talk openly and begin shaping a meaningful remembrance together.

  • I take time to listen carefully to the stories, relationships and moments that made someone who they were.

These conversations help create a ceremony that feels personal, authentic and reflective of a unique life.

  • Every ceremony is thoughtfully written from scratch, shaped around the personality, values and experiences of the person being remembered.

Families are always welcome to contribute readings, music, reflections or personal touches throughout the process.

  • On the day itself, my role is to create a calm and supportive space for remembrance, reflection and connection.

Each ceremony is delivered with warmth, care and respect for the people present and the life being honoured.

If you feel I may be the right fit for your family or gathering, I’d be honoured to hear from you.

Stories That Stay With Us

Still We Speak is a space for thoughtful conversations and shared reflections on grief, remembrance, resilience and the human experience.

Through storytelling and honest dialogue, the project explores the moments that shape our lives — the people we carry with us, the losses that change us, the connections that sustain us and the stories that continue long after moments have passed.

Created and hosted by Lewis Docherty, Still We Speak exists to create space for meaningful conversation, reflection and human connection in a world that often moves too quickly beyond them.

Conversations and reflections coming soon.
